About Hanwag

Since 1921, Hanwag has been developing mountaineering, trekking and hiking footwear at its headquarters in Vierkirchen near Munich. Combining traditional Bavarian craftsmanship with technical expertise and continuous innovation, Hanwag focuses on functional footwear designed for demanding outdoor use. Beyond the mountains, Hanwag also creates footwear for hunting and everyday outdoor-inspired lifestyles.

With a strong emphasis on precise fit, carefully selected materials and robust construction, all Hanwag footwear is made in Europe. Production takes place in Germany, Croatia, Hungary and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
